Campaign History
2009/10 Highlights
- Grand Openings Galore! With the snip
of the ribbon and enthusiastic applause, new Paediatrics, Critical
Care and Rotary Mental Health Units
were opened in the summer/fall of2009 to the delight of staff, patients
and generous donors alike. These were the first parts of the Alliance’s$65
million project to become patient ready, and a concrete example of
the impact of community support.
- The Hospital Auxiliary/Volunteers
of the Stratford General Hospital continue to raise money towards
their $1million pledge for
essential medical equipment including a $500,000 digital mammography
machine._
Physicians smashed their $200,000Medical Staff Campaign goal, with
total physician support now at an incredible $285,000. Special thanks
to Drs.
Laurel Moore, Miriam Mann and Brian Hughes for their efforts, and
all physicians for their generous support!
- Donors continued to respond generously
to our mail appeals, with some $232,000 given to our Seasonal appeal,
and an additional
$105,570 in response to our Rx mailing.
- A vibrant website keeps our communities and donors informed
with over 50,000 hits a month! The Heart &Soul video on YouTube
and several new blogs connect the Foundation with donors and friends.
- All are looking forward to the Grand
Opening of the newly constructed north wing, with its new Emergency
Department, Imaging
Department, Surgical
Services and CPD (Central Processing Department). Donor generosity
will be recognized on our newly-built donor recognition wall, prominently
displayed in the new link lobby.
- Special events have a tremendous impact! The Festival City
10k run hosted by Physiotherapy Alliance and Stratford Sports Medicine
raised$13,000. The Royal LePage Hiller golf tournament raised $22,775,
and the Stratford Country Club’s 24 Hour Charity Marathon of Squash
raised$27,000. Whether it’s long standing events like the Perth
County Flying Club Fly-in Breakfast or newer events like Positive Spin,
community support and enthusiasm always make these events a great success.
- We salute those who gave major gifts including: Hyde Construction$25,000
to name an Emergency Department Acute Care Room; N A Engineering $35,000
to name a Paediatric Room, ScotiaBank $100,000to name the Critical Care
Unit(ICU/Telemetry) Nursing Communication Station; Culliton Brothers
Ltd $100,000 to name the Emergency Main Nursing Station; CIBC $100,000
to name the Breast Health Centre Reception and Waiting Room, TD Canada
Trust $175,000 to name the Hospital’s Main Education Room, Trillium
Mutual Insurance$50,000 to name a postpartum room in the Maternal-Child
unit and an ultrasound room, Teutonia German Club $10,000, Eastern
Star $1,038,Manulife Financial in honour of their advisors $10,000
and many,
many others at all levels of giving!
- Over the last few years the Foundation has disbursed a total
of $6.2 million to the redevelopment project, including $2.4 million
for PACS and this fiscal year’s $2 million for equipment, furnishings
and new communication technology.
2008/09 Highlights
- RBC names the Paediatric Nursing Station, 2 specialized
rooms and Education fund with their pacesetting pledge of $225,000.
- Scotiabank names the Critical Care Unit nursing communication
station. Other local banks will be announcing their support and naming
over the next month.
- The Hospital Auxiliary of the Stratford General Hospital
continues to raise money towards their $1 million pledge for essential
medical equipment including a $500,000 digital mammography machine.
- Stratford General Hospital Foundation is one of first
100 non-profits in Canada to obtain the Imagine Canada Trustmark.
- The Christmas Mailout and campaign newsletter raise
$328,898 from 1556 donors. The Tree of Giving is filled with hundreds
of caring messages from people throughout Huron, Oxford, Perth and beyond.
- Strickland’s gives $103,000 to name an ICU
room and Emerg Department room with the key message that support is
important even in times of economic downturn.
- Service Club giving increases with a $100,000 pledge
from the Knights of Columbus, Kilroy Council #1431!
- Special events have tremendous impact! The Festival
City 10k run hosted by Physiotherapy Alliance and Stratford Sports Medicine
raises $10,000. The Royal LePage Hiller golf tournament raises $18,000
and the Stratford Country Club’s 24HR Charity Marathon of Squash
raises $26,000! Many other events add to the support.
- SGH Foundation Board at 100% giving totaling $100,000
in cash & pledges.
- Live webcam and vibrant website keep our communities
and donors informed with over 50,000 hits a month! The Heart & Soul
video on YouTube and several new blogs connect the Foundation with donors
and friends.
- Donor Stewardship and accountability a top priority
with the foundation. A personalized Stewardship report is mailed to
all donors over $1,000. An article is published in our local papers
underlining the minimal campaign budget and the prudent and secure investments
of donor monies setting a high bar for charitable accountability.
- CJCS Heart & Soul radio campaign touches the
hearts of the community with heartwarming and informative messages from
donors, patients and staff. Special thanks to CJCS for making this happen.
2007/08 Highlights
- The sound of sledgehammers ring through the halls
as the construction begins…
- RE/MAX pledges $100,000 naming the CT Report Station
in the New Medical Imaging Dept.
- Municipal Support is Phenomenal!! The County of
Oxford joins our campaign with a pledge of $400,000. Lead municipal
pledges include The City of Stratford $5 million, $625,000 from Perth
East, $500,000 from the County of Perth, $400,000 from West Perth and
$242,000 from Perth South. The Town of St Marys commits $300,000.
- The Stratford Rotary Club names the new Mental Health
Unit with a pacesetting pledge of $200,000. Their events in support
of their pledge include Ballroom Breeze dance-a-thon, and Seven in Seven
with Dan Griffith.
- The Hospital Auxiliary Association of the Stratford
General Hospital continues to raise money towards their $1 million pledge
for essential medical equipment including a $500,000 digital mammography
machine!! This year’s pledge instalment is $122,000 with additional
dollars for 2 CPAP machines for the special care nursery and a vital
signs monitor for the Chemo unit in memory of Pauline Jones taking their
total gift this year to $140,000!!!.
- The Christmas mailout and campaign newsletter raise
a record breaking $305,000 from some 1,600 donors. The Tree of Giving
is filled with hundreds of caring messages from people from throughout
Huron, Oxford, Perth and beyond.
- The campaign is at $16.2 million in cash and pledges
towards the $20 million Heart & Soul goal.
- Special events have a tremendous impact!! The Festival
City 10k run nets $10,000 towards cardiac equipment thanks to the efforts
of run organizers Physiotherapy Alliance and Stratford Sports Medicine.
The 2007 Hiller Royal LePage golf tournament raises $16,500 bringing
their total to just over $112,500. The Stratford Country Club’s
24HR Charity Marathon of Squash raised $29,000 raising $185,500 over
7 years!
2006/07 Highlights
- Hundreds celebrate the Heart & Soul Campaign
Launch as John Wilkinson MPP and Honorary Heart & Soul Campaign
Chair addresses an enthusiastic crowd as the $20 million goal is announced.
Honorary Chair Cynthia Dale sang in tribute to major donors, and the
thousands of donors who have already given from their hearts, saluting
their support for the campaign with a heart warming rendition of Born
to Live.
- Municipal Support is Phenomenal!! The City of Stratford
unanimously votes to support the Heart & Soul campaign with a commitment
of $5 million. Lead municipal gifts include $625,000 from Perth East,
$500,000 from the County of Perth, $400,000 from West Perth and $242,000
from Perth South. The Town of St Marys commits $300,000.
- The Stratford Rotary Club names the new Mental Health
Unit with a pacesetting pledge of $200,000.
- The Hospital Auxiliary Association of the Stratford
General Hospital continues to raise money towards their $1 million pledge
for essential medical equipment including a $500,000 digital mammography
machine!! This year’s pledge installment is $113,000, with $13,000
to purchase two warming cupboards.
- The Christmas mailout and campaign newsletter raise
a record breaking $292,000 from some 1,600 donors. The Tree of Giving
is filled with hundreds of caring messages from people from throughout
Huron, Oxford, Perth and beyond.
- The campaign is at $14.5 million in cash and pledges
towards the $20 million Heart & Soul goal. A tremendous group of
Campaign Cabinet members pose in front of an Ambulance in OR greens…the
first step to reaching goal.
- Special events have a tremendous impact!! The Festival
City 10k run nets $10,000 towards cardiac equipment thanks to the efforts
of run organizers Physiotherapy Alliance and Stratford Sports Medicine.
The 2006 Hiller Royal LePage golf tournament raises $16,500 bringing
their total to just over $80,000. The Stratford Country Club’s
24HR Charity Marathon of Squash raises $30,000 for PACS taking their
total to $155,000.
- A salute to the Stratford Festival of Canada 2006
Company for A Grand Night-Family Portraits which raised $55,050 to purchase
equipment for cancer diagnosis and surgeries.
2005/06 Highlights
- July 25th 2005 is a milestone for our $40 million
Critical Care Redevelopment Project. John Wilkinson, MPP announces 50/50
provincial funding to a cheering audience in the hospital's front lobby.
- The City of Stratford Mayor and Councillors unanimously
vote to support the Heart & Soul campaign with a commitment of $5
million.
- The Stratford Lions Club names the new Emergency
Triage Room with a pacesetting gift of $100,000.
- The Knights of Columbus complete an orthopedic equipment
pledge for $50,000 and commit another $50,000 to the redevelopment project
- The Hospital Auxiliary Association of the Stratford
General Hospital help purchase 2 pulmonary beds…They will publicly
announce their tremendous pacesetting pledge at the Heart & Soul
Campaign Launch.
- The Christmas mailout raises a record breaking $212,000
from some 1,600 donors. The Tree of Giving is filled with hundreds of
caring messages from people throughout Huron and Perth and beyond.
- The quiet stage of our campaign has surpassed $10.5
million towards our $20 million local share. Once the campaign is launched
all these tremendous donations will be announced and recognized.
