Heart and Soul Campaign

Over the next two years, our hospital will undergo a tremendous transformation. The project includes a new wing to house Emergency, Medical Imaging, and a comprehensive surgical service. The East building will be maximized with a new Intensive Care Unit, new Mental Health Unit and an expanded maternal/child program.

This is critical to cope with more patients, an aging population and retention/ recruitment pressures. By working together we can help ensure our hospital is second to none for the care, expertise and compassion they provide to you, your family and friends.

This project has received the “go ahead” from the province along with a commitment to fund 90% of the construction. Stratford General Hospital Foundation, with the support of a caring community, is raising the local share — some $20 million for construction and equipment

The Heart & Soul Campaign Team will also be fundraising for new and replacement equipment, state-of-the-art equipment and all required furnishings like nursing stations. One hundred per cent of all equipment and furnishing costs must be funded locally —some $15 million.

The Heart & Soul Campaign has strong support. A feasibility study conducted by Ketchum Consulting Incorporated indicated 100% support for both the project and the need for the campaign by participants—a result that’s unparalleled in similar studies. With major gifts secured from the City of Stratford ($5 million) and other donors, the Foundation is set to kick off the public portion of its campaign.

Donors are the very “heart and soul” of our fundraising efforts. Their past support has purchased millions of dollars worth of essential medical equipment in our Hospital. Their generous support of our latest campaign will touch the lives of virtually every family throughout our region.
